NextDose Support

Help for using NextDose without the extra noise.

NextDose helps users track when a medication was last taken and when the next dose becomes available based on the schedule they enter themselves. It does not provide medical advice.

Add a medication

Create a medication entry, add the name, the amount you usually take, and the timing schedule you want NextDose to follow.

The app uses the timing information you enter. If the schedule is entered incorrectly, edit the medication so future timing is based on the corrected details.

Log a dose

When a dose is taken, log it in the app. NextDose records that event and updates the next available time using the medication schedule on that entry.

If the wrong time or amount is entered, edit the medication or remove the incorrect record if the app offers that action in the current build.

How reminders work

NextDose uses local notifications on the iPhone when the user enables them. Notification timing is based on the medication schedule and the logs stored on that device.

If notifications are turned off in iPhone settings, Focus modes are active, or notification permissions were denied, reminders may not appear.

How Siri shortcuts work

Supported Siri shortcuts can help users check whether a medication is ready and log a dose more quickly. Siri responses depend on the medication data and history stored in the app on that iPhone.

Troubleshooting

Common questions

Why is a medication not ready yet?

The most recent logged dose plus the medication timing schedule has not reached the next available time yet. Check the latest log and the schedule saved on that medication.

What does “next dose available” mean?

It means the waiting interval entered for that medication has completed according to the timing data stored in the app. It does not mean the app has verified medical safety or dosage correctness.

Why are notifications not appearing?

Check that notification permission is enabled for NextDose, Focus or Do Not Disturb is not blocking alerts, and the medication still has reminders turned on in the app.

What if the medication timing was entered wrong?

Edit the medication details so future availability uses the correct timing. If you are unsure which schedule is correct, follow your doctor or prescription instructions instead of relying on the app.

How do I edit or delete a medication?

Open the medication entry in the app and use the available edit or delete controls. Changes affect the timing information NextDose uses for that medication going forward.

What privacy should I expect?

In the first release, medication details and dose history are stored locally on the device. NextDose does not require accounts or cloud sync in that release.

Medical Notice

NextDose is not a medical advice app.

It does not tell users what dose to take, whether a dose is medically appropriate, or whether instructions were entered correctly. Users should follow their doctor or prescription bottle instructions.
